About
This blog is about sharing art, for sure, but it’s also about being creative. For many years I’ve been busy creating “stuff”, lots of stuff. Paintings, drawings, clay sculptures, magnets, polymer clay pins and wall plaques, crocheted afghans and sweaters, greeting cards, handmade tiles………..on and on and on. And I love it all. However, I’ve recently rediscovered that I, consciously or unconsciously, have been creating my life along the way.
I was a single mom, raising two kids without much support of any kind and never a dime of child support from the sperm donor. I earned a living by being a freelance architectural illustrator working out of my home, which allowed me the freedom to be slightly more available to the kids, and earned enough money that I was able to purchase several homes along the way. It wasn’t necessarily easy, but it was fun and busy and full of life. The kids are grown and out on their own now and… being an empty nester has proven a real adjustment. A shocker, actually.
After years of feeling lost, I started this blog as part of my “reinvent yourself” campaign. The goal is to focus on creativity of ALL kinds, including the art of creating a life you love. One full of meaning and passion, purpose and pride, a desire to give back, all the components that give life significance. A sense that what you do matters, that you somehow contribute to the overall good of mankind and the planet, that you are unique and valuable, a true one-of-a-kind work of art.
It’s a work in progress, this blog. Kinda like life! There is still much to learn. It’s exciting and invigorating. I’m truly looking forward to the process. I hope you enjoy the artwork and the conversation, and that you’ll come back often, offering your views and ideas on how to keep life creative.
